I've got one of them, and the default settings in NASCAR seem to be good. Make sure you enable the low speed steering hack though (in GTP, this has to be done through the launcher - click options) as this gives you some feel. I have the force feedback at 100%, although this is down to preference. In GTP, I've been thinking of lowering it as it can be quite hard to turn the wheel quickly with the levels of grip these cars have.
It's a matter of balance. The more FFB you have, the more feel you have, but the harder it is to be accurate with the wheel movement.
There are several top drivers that use MSFF wheels, so it is definately possible. I would recommend that you set all 3 steering momemtum sliders to 0%, sterring help to 0% and linearity high to begin with (you can always lower it later). Put on the low speed steering hack, as previously suggested here.
In the Game controllers screen in windows, put sensitivity to low, and dead zone to low. That should be a good starting point. It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.
Some of the best I've found come from however, you do have to register to D/L setups. His are always fast and stable. The setups from setup-guru.com are good too, there the Volker Hackmann setups are the best, very fast but touchy (to me) for the first couple of laps until the tires heat up. Nnc B3 stands for Nascar Nextel Cup Beta 3, which is a mod for NR2003 available through. A bunch of guys who work hard (for free) and have done a mod that will allow 2007 car shapes to be used in NR2003. The shapes that come with NR2003 are out of date and don't look like todays cars.
The mod allows Toyotas to be used also. The 'Beta 3' means that it's the third edition of this mod, more refined than Beta 2. To get the 2007 COT into the game you need yet another mod, the SIModified COT mod available at. The 'rar' is short for Winrar which is a file compression utility that is available for free as a trial. Many of the downloads will be either.rar or.zip files,.zip is short for Winzip another utility with a free trial download. Now, confused enough?:huh. I actually found a really interseting thing about the car of tomorrow mod.
So i got the DanNisbet mod, because that is what everyone is using this mod to paint for, and i also got the one with CTS physics. So what im doin is taking the cars that are painted for the CUP physics mod of the COT, and i am using a program from theuspits to convert those files to CTS COT physics, so it will be more realistic, and i will have all the paint schemes. So practically, im taking the paint schemes for cup, and transfering them to CTS physics, so that it is more realistic, cuz we all know the COT doesnt run as fast as a normal cup car, but more like trucks!
